When we went to Guatemala last year
we met Mari at Church on Sunday.
She told us that her husband was living in Canada.
She stayed home with their four children
and earned money by doing laundry.
But she was unable to work anymore
because of the pain in her shoulders.
It took me about 3 seconds to process what she said.
The reason her shoulders hurt so bad
was because she was doing laundry in a washtub,
washing mountains of clothes by hand.
I most certainly don't do laundry
the way she does laundry.
I guess it's all about perspective, isn't it?
Now I feel a little ridiculous
when I complain about laundry....
