This year
my sister and I have season tickets
to the Hale Centre Theatre,
a nearby
community theater.
Saturday we saw
Curtains.
It was very entertaining.
.
We have seen some
great plays this year--
like
The Scarlet Pimpernel,
Treasure Island, and
Hello Dolly.
The Hale Centre Theatre
is a theater in the round.
And there is not
a bad seat in the house.
My favorite thing
about it is
the stage.
It is a revolving stage
with different sections
that can be raised and lowered
to design some
pretty amazing sets.
In Treasure Island, the stage
became the prow of a
pirate ship...
and somehow they
built a waterfall
and a 12 foot deep pool
that actors were
actually thrown into
during the show.
In the
Scarlet Pimpernel,
the stage was a two-level
carousel, then a
guillotine that tricks you
into thinking they
actually
chopped off their heads!
Coming up is their annual production of A Christmas Carol.
