I've been thinking lately
that maybe I should
cancel my newspaper
subscription
and just read it
online.
Then I thought
about my
morning ritual...
and I decided,
Bag that!
This is one of my
favorite parts
of the day!
Every morning
I go outside in
my pajamas
and pick up my
morning newspaper
off the driveway.
It's always there
waiting for me.
In the summer,
when I sleep with
the windows open,
I'm sometimes semi-awake
when I hear
someone drive up
around 5:00.
The car slows down... and
the paper hits
the cement
with a quiet slap.
I love that sound.
After everyone has gone
to school and work,
I sit down with my
breakfast
and my
newspaper.
I don't want
to start
my day
without it!
